Hazing Zadziory seemed fun to Czerep until it got suddenly trendy.
I tried a couple new approaches to this comic, to really push the art. The backgrounds are done in copics again, but I also did some accent work with colored pencil. Then, in Photoshop, I used dodge and burn to subtly control where the focal points were in the composition of each panel. That way, I could “recycle” the background image without the comic looking monotonous.
Finally, I tried some more detailed shading on Lucky in panel 4. I’m not 100% satisfied with how that came out. But by using the lasso to select jagged areas, and then using dodge and burn again, there’s enough shading to give Lucky’s face a furry texture.
