Not thrilled with how the background came out, but mastering gouache will take time. And I’m torn on the cell shading…I might still prefer straight flats for characters. But the overall look of this comic is close to what I’m aiming for.
Thanks for reading, and sorry this was a few days late. I know, I know–an odd thing to say when I’ve gone on hiatuses lasting many months. But I’m committing myself to weekly updates in 2021. I’m tired of doing comics on the side, and intend to make this a full-time gig.

I’m looking forward to your regular update schedule, but I understand that you need to take care of yourself first. I’m looking forward to seeing Rudek and company on a more frequent basis. I’m also perfectly fine if you need some extra time to make sure the strip is all you want it to be.
I wonder what Masha has in mind when the Kapitan shows up… if he can be bothered to stir. (Maybe that’s what she’s counting on.)
